KVD Beauty’s Good Apple Foundation Is Definitely The Most Controversial TikTok Product Ever

Like any (old) millennial who scrolls through TikTok for hours, I’m pretty easily influenced by the products I see reviewed over and over again. Not since the early YouTube days has a social platform had such influence on what people buy—especially in the beauty world. That’s why after just a few days, I knew I had to do a KVD Vegan Beauty Good Apple Foundation review. There is no middle ground with this product. Some love it and swear it’s life-changing and others think it’s a miss. I try a lot of products so let’s see how it works with my skin.

First, let me give you the rundown on Good Apple Skin-Perfecting Foundation Balm. There are 40 shades taking into account undertones. It promises to be both lightweight and full-coverage with a natural matte finish. It starts off cream but dries down to this powdery finish. It’s infused with apple extract and sodium hyaluronate to help nourish and hydrate skin. The creamy, non-comedogenic formula is buildable but it’s pretty full-coverage with just one swipe. Unlike the OG Lock-It Foundation, which works great on oily skin, Good Apple was made for “balanced to dry skin” per the brand.

Our mission at STYLECASTER is to bring style to the people, and we only feature products we think you’ll love as much as we do. Please note that if you purchase something by clicking on a link within this story, we may receive a small commission of the sale.

KVD Vegan Beauty.

KVD Vegan Beauty sent me a few shades and being pretty light-skinned, I tried shade 002. It was way too light. I settled on 004 but think 012 is probably my best match. These fair shades are fair. From what I’ve seen on TikTok and heard from friends, the deep shades are also deep. That’s great in terms of shade representation. They didn’t send me a brush so I used the Fenty Beauty foundation brush and added a small amount to the brush. One swipe and WOW. This stuff is no joke.

Elizabeth Denton.

As you can see, it easily covers my freckles, redness and really, everything. I should mention that I never wear full-coverage foundation. I’m all about the skin tint with a radiant finish. But it’s nice to have a heavier coverage around for special occasions. This is absolutely that heavy coverage. Ignoring the fact that the shade is just too light for me, you can see how it created almost a mask on my face.

kvd vegan beauty review

Elizabeth Denton.

What surprised me the most about this cream foundation is how matte it finishes. TikTokers made me think it would have a dewy finish. My skin is normal-to-dry and I didn’t even need setting powder. It fully dries down. It’s also important to use a small amount of product. People on TikTok were using way too much, causing it to transfer and smear off. Less is more with cream coverage.

I ended up blending it out even more with my fingers, which I think helped warm up the product and sheer it out a little. I brought some life back to my skin with blush and bronzer.

Elizabeth Denton.

You can see why this foundation is so controversial. Yes, it’s best for dry skin but it’s also matte so it’s for those with normal or dry skin who like a matte finish. Many with dry skin like a dewy finish but this is not that. Still, it does feel pretty hydrating and it didn’t settle into my fine lines or dry spots, which is a definite win. I think it could work for oily skin types with the right primer and setting powder.

That is if you can get your hands on it. Shades are going fast. Try to grab yours, above, while the brand continues to restock.

Is Peacock Free? Here’s How to Watch ‘The Office’ & More Shows at No Cost

Fans of The Office will be happy learn that Peacock is free and offers all nine seasons of the NBC sitcom at no cost. Peacock launched in July 2020 as a streaming service for NBCUniversal shows such as The Office, This Is Us and the Real Housewives franchise.

For those who don’t know, NBCUniversal is the home of many networks, including NBC, NBC News, NBC Sports, Bravo, E! and Oxygen. The launch of Peacock came after fan-favorite shows such as The Office and Parks and Recreation, both of which originally aired on NBC, left rival streaming services like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime to stream under Peacock. As of January 2021, Peacock has had 33 million subscribers, and that number is only expected to grow.

With shows like The Office, This Is Us and the Real Housewives in its library, it’s clear that Peacock is a must-have streaming service for any TV fan. But with how saturated the market is at the moment with other streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, HBO Max, Disney±—the list goes on), it’s understandable why TV lovers want to know if there’s a way to watch Peacock for free without the commitment of a subscription. Well, ahead is a breakdown on how to watch Peacock for free and binge your favorite NBCUniversal shows.

"This Is Us"

Image: Courtesy of NBC.

Is Peacock free?

Yes! Peacock is free. Viewers can watch thousands of hours of TV shows and movies, as well as sports and news, at no cost. (That includes The Office!) All you have to do is sign up for a free account with your email. That said, while Peacock offers a free plan, that doesn’t mean that everything on Peacock is available at no cost.

How much does Peacock cost?

Peacock offers two paid plans. Peacock Premium and Peacock Premium Plus. Peacock Premium costs $4.99 per month and offers a seven-day free trial. Peacock Premium Plus costs $9.99 per month and also offers a seven-day free trial. Peacock Premium allows subscribers to access everything in the free plan, as well as live sports, Peacock original series, next-day episodes of NBC shows and more movies and TV shows that aren’t available in the free account. Peacock Premium Plus is the exact same as Peacock Premium except subscribers won’t have to watch ads and can stream their shows offline on their mobile devices.

What shows are on Peacock?

Peacock offers thousands of hours of TV shows and movies. Of course, The Office was the main draw for many Peacock subscribers. But the service also offers access to shows like Yellowstone, This Is Us, the Real Housewives and Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Peacock also offers several original programs, such as Brave New World and reboots for Saved by the Bell and Punky Brewster. Peacock is also where Bravo plans to reboot The Real Housewives of Miami and air its rumored Real Housewives: All Stars spinoff.

Beyoncé Just Posted a Rare Photo of Her Twins & They Are So Grown Up Now

It’s so rare that we get a glimpse at Beyoncé’s twins, so any day Queen Bey shares a photo of Rumi and Sir is a day to celebrate. And that day has come: The “Black Parade” singer just shared the sweetest flicks of her kids on Instagram, and we can’t believe how grown up they all are now.

Beyoncé welcomed Rumi and Sir Carter with her husband Jay-Z in June 2017. While we know this marks over three years since her twins entered the world, it’s still kind of mindblowing to realize that these babies aren’t actually babies anymore. In case you needed any confirmation, though, just take a look at the photos Bey shared from her recent trip to the beach with her family.

The “Brown Skin Girl” singer, 39, shared a gallery of flicks to her Instagram on Wednesday, March 31. In the first, Bey posed with her eldest daughter, 9-year-old Blue Ivy Carter. The duo sported cute frames in the flick, which was taken just two weeks after both took home Grammy awards at the 63rd Annual Recording Academy Awards. Blue took home her first-ever Grammy win for her appearance in one of Bey’s music videos, whereas her mom topped the record for the woman with the most awards in Grammy’s history after taking home four golden gramophone trophies.

In her Instagram post, Beyoncé also gave fans a rare glimpse at her twins, posting photos of each of them as they played by the water on the beach. While Rumi and Sir had their backs turned to the camera, it was clear by looking at them just how much they’ve grown—and honestly, this little peek was the gift we didn’t even know we needed.

Instagram PhotoSource: Instagram

Beyoncé has always been very vocal about her experiences as a mother, and in 2019, she opened up about her difficult pregnancy with her twins. She revealed during Homecoming, her documentary for Netflix, that pregnancy complications nearly cost her and one of her twins’ lives.

“My body went through more than I knew it could. I was 218 pounds the day I gave birth. I had an extremely difficult pregnancy,” she said during the doc. “I had high blood pressure. I developed toxemia, preeclampsia, and in the womb, one of my babies’ heartbeats paused a few times, so I needed to get an emergency C-section.”

Thankfully, everything worked out OK for Bey and her babies—and we get to see them all thriving together today and for years to come!

Early Aughts Clothes to Shop, Because 2000 Is the New 2021

The 2000s look better now than they did when we were living them. Seriously, my memories of the aughts involve embellished thongs peeking out from low-rise jeans, satin slip silhouettes that highlighted even the subtlest of food babies, and chainmail—all kinds of chainmail. But 2000s clothes have seen something of a resurrection in recent years—here are the pieces that are worth revisiting in 2021.

2020 was characterized by a veritable blend of retro resurrections. The ’90s have been cool for years now—dad sneakers, mom jeans and boyfriend sweatshirts, included. The ’70s are seeing a brief revival this year, too. Farrah Fawcett-inspired curtain bangs and flare jeans are bigger than they’ve ever been. But if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that every single girl on TIkTok is channeling some serious 2000s vibes right now.

Yes, the majority of my own outfit catastrophes took place during the early aughts, but there were some redeeming qualities about that very blingy decade. Like, for instance, the resurgence of velour sweatsuits and platform sandals this year. Butterfly clips, tiny handbags and chain choker necklaces are also worth mentioning, too.

The 2000s were a strange time for fashion, but now that we’re more than 10 years removed, we can pull stealth MVPs from this abject mess of 2000s clothes and render them chicer than they’ve ever seemed before. (And even if you’re not on board with that, you have to admit—the fodder for Halloween costumes is basically endless.

Read on to shop the best 2000s-inspired pieces that feel totally at home in 2021.

This Tiny Shoulder Bag

IDK what it was about celebs in the 2000s, but it always seemed like they never had to carry anything when they went out at night. Why do I think this? Because their bags were always so tiny. Channel that same energy in 2021 with this purple bag from Skinnydip London.

Finding one of Juicy Couture’s signature bedazzled sweatsuits is getting harder and harder these days, so I’ll settle instead for this graphic t-shirt from their recent collaboration with Forever21. It passes the vibe check for sure.

If you want to feel like Paris Hilton circa The Simple Life, you need a micro mini skirt in your wardrobe, preferably one made out of denim. Bonus points if you style it with clear and/or bedazzled heels—and lots of chunky charm bracelets.

I went to camp as a kid in the early aughts, so my summers included tons of beaded bracelets. I love anything that looks handmade, so I will be getting a few of these super inexpensive bracelets on Etsy for me and my bestie to share.

Blake Shelton Just Revealed When He & Gwen Stefani Are Planning to Get Married

We just got a big clue about Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani‘s wedding date from the man himself. According to Shelton, he and his fiancé are planning on getting hitched before his next season of The Voice, which means that wedding bells may be in order as soon as the summer of 2021.

The Voice coach, 44, opened up about his wedding plans with Stefani, 51, during his surprise guest-hosting appearance on the Wednesday, March 31 episode of NBC New’s TODAY with Hoda & Jenna. “I’m afraid if she and I wait until next November, then I’m right back into The Voice cycle again,” Shelton explained to co-hosts Hoda and Jenna. “And I really want to be able to have plenty of time before and after.”

The “God’s Plan’ singer went on to confirm that he and Stefani are aiming for a summer ceremony. “So hopefully this summer now,” he said. “I think we’re right here at the point with COVID, it looks like it may be OK, but I don’t know.” Shelton and Stefani, who got engaged in October 2020, don’t have an exact wedding date for their nuptials—but they do have an idea about who they’d like to attend their “amazing concert wedding.”

“It’s starting to sound like a Coachella lineup here all of a sudden,” the country crooner joked. “I’ve got all these superstars saying they’re going to do it. I hope so. I don’t know.”

Instagram PhotoSource: Instagram

Days before Shelton’s TODAY appearance, his former Voice co-star Adam Levine joked that Stefani and Shelton “can’t afford” him as a performer at their wedding, before going on to admit that he would, of course, being “honored” to perform during their ceremony. “I would love to,” he said during SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up on Monday, March 29. Others, such as Disney alum Miley Cyrus, have also offered to play at their nuptials.

The “Austin” singer went on to express how he would “love to be able to take everybody up on their offer and have this amazing concert wedding.” For now, though, the couple’s plans are tentative as they wait to see how social distancing conditions continue to develop. “We’re just waiting every day like everybody else to see what our summer is going to look like and go from there,” he said.

Kylie Jenner’s Bob Is My Favorite Hairstyle On Her Ever

After a year of laying low with everyone else, Kylie Jenner is out and about showing off new hairstyles and out-there ‘fits. Monday night, she hit up Nobu Malibu with her sister Kendall, wearing a space-like catsuit that looked to almost glow in the dark. It seems she also said goodbye to her ultra-long extensions as Jenner was rocking a chic new bob. It’s the shortest style we’ve seen from her in a long time and it might just be a favorite.

The youngest Jenner wore a Pierre-Louis Auvray catsuit with a matching trench coat, paired with a tiny pink Alexandre Vauthier pumps and an Hermès Kelly bag for her night out in Malibu. For those who aren’t in LA, Nobu is a spot where celebs go to be noticed. They know they will be photographed, which is why Jenner looks so chic for a sushi dinner. And that hair! It’s glossy and black in a cute cropped cut.

Instagram PhotoSource: Instagram

Back in 2020, Jenner had said she was focusing on hair health while at home during quarantine. Still, she’s been rocking ultra-long extensions and even played around with 2003-era blonde highlights. As much as we loved the bronze hue, there’s something very Kardashian-Jenner about black hair—especially in a bob style. This cut is even shorter than even Kim Kardashian wears when she goes for a bob. It ends right below her ears so she can tuck strands behind them in a flirty way.

The length feels fresh and new for 2021 and we’re hoping she keeps it around for a while. But knowing Kylie Jenner, she’ll be back to waist-length extensions before we can double-tap her photo. A bob is perfect for the wild new ‘fits she’s been wearing. You can’t hide those behind inches! Kylie Jenner is back at it and nature is healing, everyone.

‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Is Casting—But Contestants Are ‘Apprehensive’ to Join Amid Racism Controversy

Hello, summer. Bachelor in Paradise 2021 will happen, according to Reality Steve, and at least one contestant has already been cast.

Bachelor in Paradise, a spinoff of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, premiered on ABC in August 2014. The show, which has aired six seasons, sees former Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants come together for a summer in Mexico as they look for love and hope to end their time on the beach with an engagement. Due to the current health crisis, viewers missed Bachelor in Paradise in 2020. However, according to Reality Steve, the show will return in 2021 and will air between Katie and Michelle’s season’s of The Bachelorette.

Katie Thurston and Michelle Young, two contestants from season 25 of The Bachelor with Matt James, were announced as the season 17 and season 18 Bachelorettes at Matt’s “After the Final Rose” special in March 2021. According to Reality Steve, Michelle was ABC’s first choice to be the Bachelorette but because of her job as a teacher, the network decided to postpone the premiere of her season until later this year, so she wouldn’t have to take time away from her students and can film in the summer when school is out.

In an interview with StyleCaster in October 2020, host Chris Harrison revealed that there had been talks to film Bachelor in Paradise in 2020, but those plans were put on hold to focus on The Bachelorette season 16, which aired months behind schedule.

“Early on, we thought, ‘Hey. If this only lasts a couple weeks, we could still cram The Bachelorette in all in and make it all work and push Bachelor in Paradise,’” Harrison said at the time. “Quickly, we realized this is a much bigger problem and everything was going to have to take a back seat. We thought we might be lucky to just get The Bachelorette done. We realized Bachelor in Paradise was just going to go away for the summer. Unfortunately. It was just a casualty of this pandemic. Now we’re going to get into Matt James doing The Bachelor. That will put us back on schedule and hopefully, knock on wood, next summer, things will open. We’ll have the vaccine and we can get back to our regular calendar.”

Ahead is what we know about Bachelor in Paradise 2021 and which Bachelor Nation favorites have been cast. Summer can’t come soon enough because we’re more than ready for Bachelor in Paradise season 7.

When will Bachelor in Paradise 2021 premiere?

According to Reality Steve, Bachelor in Paradise 2021 will premiere in the late summer after Katie’s Bachelorette finale but before Michelle’s Bachelorette premiere. The blogger reported that Katie’s season started filming in March 2021 and will air in the summer. Michelle’s season will start filming in the summer and air in the fall. In between Katie and Michelle’s Bachelorette seasons will be Bachelor in Paradise season 7. This means that it’s possible that some men from Katie’s Bachelorette season could be on Bachelor in Paradise.

Who is in the Bachelor in Paradise 2021 cast?

The official Bachelor in Paradise 2021 contestants haven’t been announced. But in January 2021, ABC executive Robert Mills confirmed that Dr. Joe Park, a contestant from Tayshia and Clare’s season of The Bachelorette, was one of the first Bachelor Nation members cast for Bachelor in Paradise 2021. “We’ve got ourselves a vaccinated Paradisian!!” Mills wrote as he retweeted a post about Joe receiving his vaccination. Joe, an anesthesiologist, was eliminated in the top 16 of The Bachelorette but was a fan favorite among viewers for his one-liners.

https://twitter.com/Millsy11374/status/1347706227048869888?s=20

In February 2020, a source posted on Reddit that Alayah and Mykenna, contestants from Peter’s season of The Bachelor, were “99.9 percent confirmed” for Bachelor in Paradise season 7. Alayah, a former Miss Texas, was one of the villains of Peter’s season and feuded with Victoria P., another pageant queen. She was eliminated in 16th place. Mykenna, a fashion blogger, was cast as the “clingy” contestant on Peter’s season and was sent home in the top 8.

A source told E! News in March 2021 that many Bachelor and Bachelorette alums are “apprehensive” to be on season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise because of the franchise’s recent racism scandal involving The Bachelor season 25 contestant Rachael Kirkconnell and host Chris Harrison. “Casting has begun and some members of Bachelor Nation are apprehensive to sign up,” the source said. “Some are wondering what direction the season will take and are curious if it will strictly focus on contestants falling in love.”

Another source told E! News, “They have put out several asks to Bachelor veterans. Many people are declining due to the current state of Bachelor Nation. A lot of people are removing themselves from the franchise.” The insider also told the site that ABC is “hoping to get Blake Horstmann, Tia Booth, and Becca Kufrin” for season 7. However, the source notes that fans shouldn’t expect contestants from Matt’s Bachelor season. “Producers are not considering most of the women from Matt’s season,” the source said.

Where will Bachelor in Paradise 2021 film?

Season 1 of Bachelor in Paradise filmed in Tulum, Mexico. Starting in season 2, the spinoff was filmed at the Playa Escondida hotel in Sayulita, Mexico. Due to the current health crisis, it’s unclear where Bachelor in Paradise season 7 will film. According to Reality Steve, the location hasn’t been decided yet.

Bachelor in Paradise is available to stream on Hulu.

Meghan & Harry’s Wedding Officiant Responds to Claims They Lied About When They Got Married

During their Oprah special, Harry and Meghan talked about having a secret wedding that took place in their backyard just three days before they officially tied the knot at Windsor Castle—but in the weeks since their tell-all aired, critics have hit back at the Sussexes’ claim that they got “married” during the private backyard ceremony. Finally, after much scrutiny, a spokesperson for Meghan and Harry is clearing things up once and for all.

A representative for the Duke, 36, and Duchess, 39, confirmed to both the Daily Beast and NBC’s “Today” on March 22 that the couple didn’t *actually* get legally married during their secret ceremony, but instead “exchanged personal vows a few days before their official/legal wedding on May 19,” in 2018. The couple’s statement comes after weeks of backlash from the U.K. press and palace sources claiming that they lied about their secret wedding after Meghan said they “got married” in their backyard during her interview with Oprah.

In the special, which aired March 7, 2021, Meghan recalled exchanging vows with Harry in the backyard of their home at Nottingham Cottage as the Archbishop of Canterbury presided. “You know, three days before our wedding, we got married. No one knows that,” Meghan told Oprah.

She continued, “We called the archbishop, and we just said, ‘Look, this thing, this spectacle, is for the world. But we want our union between us.’ So the vows that we have framed in our room are just the two of us in our backyard with the Archbishop of Canterbury.” Harry added, “Just the three of us,” referring to the archbishop, the Most Reverend Justin Welby.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, also confirmed to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica in March 2021 that he signed the legal document for Meghan and Harry’s wedding on May 19, 2018, the day of their royal ceremony. “The legal wedding was on the Saturday. I signed the wedding certificate, which is a legal document, and I would have committed a serious criminal offense if I had signed it knowing it was false,” he said.

The Archbishop, however, hinted that Meghan and Harry were telling the truth that they had an unofficial ceremony three days before their wedding. “So, you can make what you like of that. But the legal wedding was on the Saturday, but I won’t say what happened at any earlier meetings,” he said.

After Meghan and Harry’s Oprah interview, critics were also quick to point out that the ceremony couldn’t have been legal, as at least two witnesses are required for a legal marriage in the U.K. A report by The Sun later confirmed as much, as the British paper obtained a copy of the couple’s marriage certificate. The certificate states the couple’s marriage date as May 19, the day of their public wedding at Windsor Castle.

Former chief clerk Stephen Borton told the newspaper that the Duchess of Sussex may have been “confused” with her wording. “I’m sorry, but Meghan is obviously confused and clearly misinformed,” Borton said. “They did not marry three days earlier in front of the Archbishop of Canterbury.”

Instead, Borton suggested that the couple exchanged some “simple vows” or “more likely it was a simple rehearsal” in front of the archbishop before their official ceremony. And as Meghan and Harry’s statement reveals, it looks like the pair were indeed exchanging their vows to share a private moment before the big day.
