Sweater shorts are the unexpected (and super comfortable) pieces currently taking over my transitional weather wardrobe—and they deserve a place in yours this season, too.

Think of sweater shorts as a shorter, cuter version of your favorite sweatpants, without the overheating factor. Or a cozier version of your go-to denim cut-offs! You can wear ‘em as part of a matching sweater set or on their own with a baby tee or hoodie, so yes, they’re versatile.

When finding the right pair, opting for ones that come in a neutral colorway will earn you bonus fashion points, especially as wearing head-to-toe neutrals is one of this season’s top trends. Think shades of chestnut, tan, gray and cream, all of which go perfectly with the knits you’ve already got hanging in your closet.

After all, If you’re trying to incorporate more color into your wardrobe, your loungewear is a great place to start! You can take the time to get comfortable in your preferred shade now before you actually leave the house wearing it. If it feels too bold, the worst-case scenario is that you now own a ridiculously soft pair of shorts to wear while you work from home.

Your Everything Guide To September’s NYFW Schedule

Alright, fashion fans. The official schedule for New York Fashion Week has dropped, so you know what that means: The A-plus street style looks are coming! Each year, designers big and small descend on the city to host events all over New York to show off their new collections and do Fashion Month right. If you were hoping to catch a street style photoshoot, a potential celeb sighting or partake in the events that are open to the public, I’ve got all of the details on what’s happening when for you to peruse. 

Here’s the breakdown: After last season was mostly virtual, this NYFW will include a series of in-person and digital presentations. The official calendar also notes whether or not a specific show is part of the American Collections Calendar, a list of American Designers around which the larger Fashion Week schedule is designed. 

It all officially kicks off on Tuesday, September 7. The first day is comprised of a handful of in-person, invite-only events. These include Maiden Name, Collina Strada, Christian Siriano, the Ksubi x Hidji 2nd Collaboration Launch and Harlem’s Fashion Row.

Wednesday, September 8 will include a mix of both in-person and digital events. Aside from the above list of events, the Fifth Avenue Association is hosting NYFW on Fifth for the first time. 608 Fifth Avenue—a three-story venue that sits directly across from both Saks Fifth Avenue and Rockefeller Center—will be turned into a runway and will serve as a hub for several shows that will be taking place this season with the support of the CFDA. The events will take place for the entire length of Fashion Week, from September 9-12. 

Shows held on September 9 include Supima, Rookie USA featuring Levi’s, Nike, Jordan, Converse, Hurley and 3BRAND Kids Apparel Collections. Shows held on September 10 include Tasou and Renee Cafaro Atelier. It didn’t take long for fans to figure out Travis Barker’s response to Scott Disick shading Kourtney Kardashian on Instagram. While the rock star’s latest Instagram Story didn’t name any names, it’s probably safe to assume his post was targeted at none other than Kourtney’s ex.

In case you missed it: Scott, 38, was put on blast recently by Kourtney’s other ex, Younes Bendjima, for his alleged comments about the Poosh founder, 42, and her boyfriend Travis, 45. In an Instagram Story on August 30, Younes posted a screenshot of an alleged direct message he received from Scott, where the Flip It Like Disick star shaded Kourtney for her steamy photos with Travis from their latest vacation in Italy. “Yo is this chick ok!???? Brooo like what is this. In the middle of Italy,” Scott allegedly wrote to Younes.

The model, who dated Kourtney on and off from 2016 to 2019 following the end of her decade-long romance with Scott, hit back at Scott with a curt message. “Doesn’t matter to me as long as she’s happy.
