Paris City Fashion Week Comes to Eiffel Tower, Promotes Causes
Influencers and Brands Come Together at Caravan Stylist Studio
This Pinterest Stat is Proof That Beauty Trends Are Breaking Free of Gender Norms
Every year there is a crop of new hair trends but nothing is ever really out. It’s all about what makes you feel comfortable and confident. And it seems like gender beauty norms are being thrown out the window more than ever before and it’s refreshing as hell. In fact, according to the Pinterest 100 report that was just released, search for gender-neutral haircuts has gone up 625 percent (!). We’re talking curly cuts and straight cuts, long hair and pixies in all hair textures.
We’re not sure what exactly has inspired the change, except that maybe it’s Generation Z’s doing. According to Pinterest, Gen Z looks for more gender-neutral options in general. For example, 59 percent of Gen Zers “expect to see gender-neutral options on forms,” compared to 40 percent of Boomers. That’s not exactly surprising. Though androgyny isn’t new, stars such as Harry Styles, Timothée Chalamet, Ruby Rose and so many more are ditching gender norms for more androgynous styles.
When it comes to gender-neutral haircuts, it’s pretty simple to jump onto the “trend.” When you think about it, there really are no haircuts that are specifically for one gender. What’s a “female” cut anyway? It doesn’t mean anything at the end of the day. But just for fun, we rounded up some of our favorite gender-neutral hairstyles and cuts celebs have been rocking for years. Take notes and save for your next hair appointment.
Audrey Tautou and Timothée Chalamet prove the French know their way around a curly haircut. This lob length is currently everywhere.
You might not think Solange Knowles and The Weeknd would slay the same hair but this rounded ‘fro looks great on them—and almost anyone with curly or 4c hair.
Musicians Kelela and Jaden Smith know asymmetrical locs are always in style.
It’s been a joke for a while that Justin Bieber and Ruby Rose look a bit alike (in the best way possible). We think it’s probably just the chic side-swept pixie.
Probably the easiest gender-neutral cut is this pretty long length with layers, worn by Jonathan Van Ness and Emily Ratajkowski. Who let them be so gorge?
Halsey has a song with K-pop supergroup BTS called Boy With Luv. She also has been rocking this K-pop style bowl cut like Jungkook.
A buzzcut is always a good idea. Just ask hotties Ewan McGregor and Rose McGowan.

20 Under-$20 Makeup Removers That Aren’t Wipes, But Still Get the Job Done
There are many tried-and-true beauty rules we actually aim to follow and going to bed with a clean face is one of them. Don’t get us wrong; there are definitely nights when we come home from a long day at work or night out and would rather face-plant into the bed. But somehow, some way, we’re able to gather just enough energy to blindly grab makeup removers that actually work and run them across our face.
Come morning, our pillowcase will let us know if that waterproof mascara or lipstick came all the way off (fingers crossed). And over time, we come face-to-face with an unfortunate truth: makeup wipes kind-of suck. Hear us out. We’re not saying you need to swear them off forever, but everyday use of even the gentlest cloths can leave the skin red, chapped and irritated; especially if you wear heavy makeup.
Though other forms of makeup removal aren’t as convenient, they do feel a lot nicer on the skin and usually come with cleansing benefits too, so you can cut your routine down a few steps. Ahead, 20 balms, oils, sticks and micellar waters that get the job done and won’t cost a lot either.
This gentle cleansing water is infused with peach extract to remove makeup; no rinse required.
A cooling, oil-free gel that won’t pull at the lashes.
Unlike coconut oil, coconut water isn’t nearly as greasy and gentle enough to apply on and around the eye.
An all-in-one makeup remover and cleanser that doesn’t require rinsing.
A blend of natural oils, including argan and coconut, that can be used as a makeup remover and/or cleanser.
A lesser-known, but equally effective cleansing oil that smells like vanilla and best serves as the first step in your routine.
A rinse-free cleanser made with a unique mix of lemongrass, quartz and watermelon.
Organic argan oil, organic jojoba seed oil and vitamin E combine to make this rinse-free makeup remover the key to dewier-looking skin.
Formulated for sensitive skin, this micellar water (best applied with a cotton pad) removes makeup without stripping the skin of its natural oils.
Gently smoothes away makeup, thanks to a healthy dose of grapeseed oil.
After a day of wearing heavy makeup, the charcoal will work to deeply penetrate the skin and remove seen and unseen grime.
Shake, pour and rub this water onto the eyelid to remove even waterproof makeup.
Made with aloe vera, ginseng and green tea for the most sensitive skin.
Peach extracts, ginseng and jojoba oil included in this lightweight milk to wipe away makeup in one full swoop.
The natural hibiscus extract in this remover makes it especially gentle on the delicate eye area.
Dermatologically-tested and made with natural coconut oil, this travel-friendly stick makes makeup removal way more bearable.
If you’re not into micellar water, this heavier formula promises to remove makeup and cleanse the skin all at once.
Unlike the classic cold cream, this balm is a solid formula that dissolves into a silky texture that melts makeup and other grime away.
A makeup remover, cleanser and toner in one, so you can skip a few steps of your normal routine.
Shake to activate the charcoal in this water, which gets rid of makeup in a few swipes without leaving black residue behind.

I Deleted All Of My Dating Apps in 2019–And I Don’t Miss The Dick Pics
Let me paint a picture for you. It’s a self-portrait (I’m not much of an artist so mind the stick figure). It’s a picture with pervasive societal judgment and disgust on one side, and ineffective routes to correct the problem on the other, and I’m in the middle, swiping on my phone. There’s no cozy place for me, just a sandwiching between things I don’t want, and can’t change. Single and actively dating women live between a rock and a dick pic. Perhaps you’ve been there? The weather is shit.
I’m a 37-year-old single woman who has been actively dating for 11 years. For the most part, I’m speaking of online dating, because heaven knows people haven’t met in real life since the late ’90s and I was but a teen at the time. I’ve worn down enough shoe leather walking to dates to be able to assess this garbage situation from a high-level view. I see what’s happening here, and the longer I see it happening the more I’m dedicated to finding a way out. You can’t blame me for waking up to the inherent unfairness of it all. For demanding more of life, and perhaps my dates, than has previously been afforded to me. I think I’m worth more. In fact, I know I am.
On the societal side, I’m considered sad, expired, back-of-fridge Tupperware contents because I haven’t managed to partner yet. And in the dating space, I’m considered just a buffet item in an endless smorgasbord of options, and I’m the dish that’s been under the lamp too long. It’s an endless multi-front struggle and the best part is that the harder I fight, the more I lose. Essentially, I’m in the shit.
This place that single women over 30 live, with their naked emotions exposed to society’s judgment, and their fingers stuck in the door jam of online dating, must end. It’s a place that eats our self worth on toast and there must be a way out of it that doesn’t require male rescue. Because I’ve been chasing after that male rescue for over a decade and can confidently say to you that men are terrible at that particular job. On the other hand, it’s entirely possible that what’s really been happening is me giving too much power to a conglomerate of guys living in my phone to make me feel better about my single status. Just a thought.
I believe I deserve more than this stuck-in-an-endless-middle misery. It’s no way to spend a life, especially not a single one with all of its freedoms and endless space in the bed and total lordship over what to watch on Netflix. So I’ve decided to craft a way out.
We have to change the way society views and discusses single women. In my opinion, that starts with the way we view ourselves. If we see ourselves as lacking something (a partner) and feel a sense of unrest until we have one, we’re not doing our self worth any favors. This isn’t judgment by the way, I lived in the land of partnership pursuit for a decade, believe me when I say I feel you. But I don’t live there anymore, because that was a place that pushed me to feel like a failure in every direction. So I changed the way I saw my own singleness, and suddenly there was nothing society could do to make me feel bad about it. (Though it certainly tried, my god the egg freezing ads.)
But a change in mindset is just one front to address. I deleted all of my dating apps in the beginning of 2019. I removed myself from a space where every interaction (or the absence of any interaction at all), made me feel like garbage. I’m not a throw-away human being you can proposition for (free) sexts at all times of day and night. I don’t exist to service the needs of men in the online dating space. But that’s how the apps made me feel for a decade, and the only way I’ve found to solve the problem is to leave. I think we have to hold men accountable for the way they treat women online, or we have to remove ourselves from that space and leave them there alone. If there’s no one around to treat poorly, perhaps they’ll have to elevate their behavior in response.
I am done feeling like a failure, I am done feeling the sting of nowhere safe to be seen as valid. I am leaving this space where the pressure is high and the ROI is zero. I’m deciding how being single is viewed, and how it feels. I’m also deciding where other people have access to my emotions and my time. I’m leaving the middle, and I’m building something better.
I’m getting out of here. Come with me.
