So, now that rumors are circulating about when Amazon Prime Day 2022 is taking place, we’ve got alarms already set on our phone to remind us of when the big day (or days) could be. After all Amazon Prime Day 2021 took place over the course of two days, so who’s to say this year won’t be the same?
Last Prime Day, we saw incredible sales on everything form AirPods and Apple Watches to Fire Sticks and Levi’s jeans. Practically every brand we know and love offered up some sort of discount as part of the big day, so you can probably expect the same type of eye-catching discounts this year. But that’s enough speculating. Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty.
What is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is a savings event that takes place on Amazon.com where its Prime members can save big on the majority of brands that the site is home to. As we all know by now, you can buy pretty much everything on Amazon, including designer handbags and groceries, so this savings event can save you a lot of money on basically anything you need.
Think of it like Black Friday, but explicitly on Amazon and over the course of two days.
What Day is Amazon Prime 2022?
It hasn’t been confirmed yet, but we’re looking to T3, the Holy Grail of consumer sites, for their insight, and they’ve thrown out a date—well, two to be exact. Amazon Prime Day 2022 will be two days starting Monday, July 11 through Tuesday, July 12, according to T3’s hunch. This timeframe makes sense to us. Prime Day usually falls in July and at the beginning of a week. Except, of course, when it was a whole month earlier in 2021 (or in October in 2020—that was a wild time.
Prime Day begins a minute past mignight on PT most years, so 3:01 a.m. EST, and goes for just under 48 hours. So, this year if the speculation is correct, Prime Day 2022 would begin on July 11 at 3:01 a.m. for east coasters, and 12:01 a.m. for pacific coasters. Then, it would end on July 13 at 2:59 a.m. for east coasters, and July 12 at 11:59 for pacifc coasters. Man, time change is confusing.
Is everything on sale on Prime Day?
Pretty much everything on Amazon is on sale for Prime Day. Usually with Prime Day, lightning sales will be going on during specific time frames. These are usually the biggest discounts on super popular items, which is why the time these goodies are on sale is so limited. But, you can also find longer-lasting sales going on during Prime Day. Usually, brands like Levi’s, Adidas and Apple will have sales going on for the entire two-day extravaganza.

What is different about Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is different form other sales days because it takes place only on Amazon and includes the biggets discounts for Amazon products, like Alexa smart speakers and Amazon Fire TV Sticks. The two-day savings event features deals on name brands and also smaller niche ones that you can only find on the website. You can usually shop incredible discounts from designers, too.
It’s important to note that Amazon Prime Day is for Prime Members, so you have to be sure to have a membership or to have signed up for a free 30-day trial ahead of time to get the most savings as possible.
What should I buy on Prime Day?
This Amazon Prime Day 2022 you should plan to buy big-ticket tech items as well as Amazon products to get the most bang for your buck. Amazon Prime Day 2021 bestsellers included Instant Pots, 23 & Me DNA testing kits and huge packs of protein. Hey, like we said, you can get basically everything on sale for Prime Day, so why not stock up on a bulk pack of gains?
